The goldsmith of gin
At the Logis d'Angeac, the open flame caramelises artisanal excellence in small copper stills. The slow distillation melts the precious aromas of a fine selection of spices with juniper berries. A unique savoir-faire, inherited from the 18th century.
Christian Drouin's gin is made from neutral alcohol flavoured with a cider distillate, itself produced from over 30 varieties of cider apple, in which plants, roots, spices and citrus fruit have been macerated. Juniper and apples complement each other with spicy, crisp notes. A perfectly balanced gin of unrivalled finesse.
An initial nose of apple, followed by liquorice, herbaceous and peppery notes. The palate is greedy and fresh, with notes of flowers and fruit (apple, raspberry). Sweet and spicy, the aftertaste is reminiscent of our grandmother's apple pie with quince jelly.
TASTING
We recommend that you enjoy Christian Drouin Gin neat, to appreciate all its flavours. You can also enjoy it in cocktails, like this rather unusual gin and tonic: pour ice, gin and tonic into a long-drink glass and add a dash of calvados and a slice of apple. This improved gin and tonic will undoubtedly charm your guests with its originality. Christian Drouin also suggests the Angel Face recipe, dating back to 1928. Mix 3cl of Christian Drouin Gin, 3cl of Coeur de Lion Calvados and 3cl of apricot liqueur.
