Port Ruighe, pronounced 'Portree', is the Gaelic name for the bustling port city of Skye. The port flavour on the finish combines the powerful, salty character of Talisker with sweet hints of red fruit. Each sip has the sweet smokiness of a wood fire and the full fruitiness of ripe plums. This single malt has a medium body and a smoky, salty flavour. The pungent pepper fades quickly and is replaced by a peaty aroma, while a creamy smokiness mingles with spice and dark fruit. The finish is long: memorable and powerful. Attractive flavour on the tongue with smoky dryness and intense cocoa. Talisker Port Ruighe should be drunk neat.
