Meikle Tòir - The Chinquapin One is a peated single malt, carefully crafted and matured in virgin Chinquapin oak casks from the Northern Ozarks, USA. This whisky delivers notes of sweet spices and toasted nuts, harmoniously blended with a softer peaty smoke from the continental peat of St. Fergus. With an extended fermentation of 160 hours and a smoke profile measured at 35 PPM, this single malt reveals a complexity that blends perfectly with maturation in virgin oak casks.
TASTING NOTES
NOSE The aromas open with smouldering oak embers and burnt liquorice, enriched by sweet notes of honey, ginger, butterscotch and orange peel.
PALATE A gourmet experience combining cocoa, crème brûlée and toasted almonds, enhanced by accents of cinnamon, star anise and subtle campfire smoke.
FINISH Persistent, with a spicy heat that slowly mellows to notes of toasted wood and subtle smoke.
