This is an exclusive bottling
Belgian Owl was the first Belgian Single Malt Whisky to be made from barley grown in Belgium, which is very unique in the whisky world. The first bottles of Belgian Owl were quickly snapped up by passionate whisky lovers who wanted to be part of this adventure.
As early as 2004, Jim Murray in his Whisky Bible underlined the quality of the spirit that Etienne was producing, the years after which they won numerous medals and awards.
The Belgian Owl distillery was modernised around ten years ago, but more importantly, 2 potstills were installed and run from the legendary former Scottish Caperdonich distillery, which was closed in 1982 and later demolished. Today, we can enjoy one of the first distillates in these pot stills, Vintage No. 08!
- Nose: Pear straight through with notes of cinnamon, pepper and white flowers. The pear fruit signature persists, revealing notes of marshmallow, violet and liquorice. The alcohol is totally balanced and devoid of any aggressiveness.
- Palate: Smooth and rich, unctuous with notes of caramel accompanying the slightly spicy side. The second palate reveals notes of cocoa and milk chocolate.
- Finish: Long and sweet, with a return of coated pepper. The finish is very long, with notes of baked apples right to the end.
This is an exclusive bottling in which only 373 bottles are made in total.
