The Drouin family has been passionate about the cider apple for 3 generations. They use it in many ways, transforming it into cider, Pommeau, Calvados and gin. Guillaume Drouin likes to draw inspiration from other worlds to express his love of apples in new ways. In the case of ABC, he has taken inspiration from classic vermouth production methods to create a new type of apple-based aperitif. ABC stands for 'Apéritif à base de Calvados' and is created by blending an apple must with a young calvados. This mixture matures in an oak barrel and is flavoured with a mixture of herbs and plants, such as mugwort, orange, cinnamon, elderflower and yuzu. The result is a highly aromatic drink, full of the complexity of apples and spices.
ABC was developed down to the last detail by 7 experienced barmen and mixologists. This drink is perfect for drinking chilled or as an ingredient in cocktails.
Nose: The first nose releases a scent of roasted apples and citrus fruit before opening up to peppery notes combining spices, flowers and sagebrush.
Palate: The palate is harmonious and full-bodied, then evolves towards bitters (cinchona, mugwort) finely balanced by the sweetness of the apple.
Finish: The finish is dark, elegant and racy.
