Bumbu is an artisanal rum produced on the island of Barbados, known as ‘The Cradle of Rum’. Produced at The West Indies Rum Company distillery, its composition carefully follows the original and historic recipe of the first spiced rums, so dear to the Caribbean.
This blended rum has its origins in 8 countries where the sugar cane has been meticulously selected: Barbados, Brazil, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Salvador, Guyana and Honduras!
This recipe is reminiscent of those used by travellers in the 16th and 17th centuries, when spices and rum were combined! It's a unique and exclusive process, especially as spices were very expensive at the time.
This bottle of Bumbu rum has the unusual feature of not having a paper label, but a pewter cross in the centre of the bottle. The stopper is made of cork.
