Winner of the 2016 Gold Medal at the Concours Général Agricole de Paris, Neisson 50° white rum is a blend of selected vintages produced during the previous rum harvest. The vintages from which the 50° whites are made mature in stainless steel vats for 6 months, during which they are stirred, aerated and gradually reduced to their final strength.
Terroir
North Caribbean coast of Martinique. Communes of Saint-Pierre (60%) and Le Carbet (40%). The land is characterised by high levels of sunshine and low rainfall (less than 1,500 mm/year). Very high daily heat amplitude during Lent, the harvest period. Poorly developed soils on volcanic pumice from Montagne Pelée, with a sandy-clay texture.
Cane varieties
Blue cane (B69.566): 60%.
Cinnamon cane (B82.0333): 20%.
Red cane (B64.277): 10%.
Zikak sugar cane (B80.08): 9%.
Crystaline (Saccharum Officinarum): 1%.
Colour
The colour of this Neisson 50° rum is crystalline.
Nose
The nose of this very intense rum is marked by floral notes of cane sugar and vesuvius, complemented by a hint of citrus fruit.
Palate
The palate of this Neisson rum is very smooth. The body is full and supple, with sweet notes of honey and coconut.
Finish
This rum has a smooth, intense finish.
