Jack Daniel's & Honey is a whiskey liqueur with a taste enhanced by honey. Jack Daniel's Tennesse Honey is made from authentic Jack Daniel's Old N°7 with added honey liqueur. The typical taste of charcoal-filtered whiskey is combined with the sweetness of honey.

This liqueur is an experience, the way the honey underlines the charcoal character, enriched with a touch of caramel and vanilla brings a unique sensation. It can be enjoyed neat or on the rocks, or as a long drink with soda or lemonade.

    Jack Daniel's distillery

    Jack Daniel'sJasper Newton ‘Jack’ Daniel was born on 5 September 1850. But some biographers put the date at September 1846. Very precocious, Jack Daniel is said to have bought the distillery from his former boss at the age of thirteen! Even if these dates are controversial, Jack Daniel, contrary to certain rumours, is anything but a legend.

    The man with the famous moustache was small in stature, but immense in talent. A true visionary, Jack Daniel was one of the precursors of modern marketing; he understood the power of a brand before anyone else. This is undoubtedly why, more than a century after its launch, the famous Old N°7 is the best-selling American whiskey in the world.

When Jack Daniel died in 1911, his nephew, Lem Motlow, succeeded him at the head of the distillery. During Prohibition, he went into exile in Saint Louis (Missouri), where he set up a new distillery. In 1938, Lem Motlow relaunched the Lynchburg site and three years later, the name Tennessee Whiskey was officially recognised. It was a filtering process through maple charcoal, the Lincoln County Process, that distinguished it from the Bourbon appellation. The room where the many filtering vats are housed is one of the highlights of the guided tour of the distillery.

Located in the small village of Lynchburg, in the heart of rural Tennessee, the distillery does not appear to be a world leader. The contrast between the power of the brand and the isolation of the place is striking. On the other hand, the gleaming visitor centre opened in 1999, a veritable museum to the glory of Jack Daniel's, is impressive. But if you fancy buying a bottle or tasting a glass of Jack Daniel's in Lynchburg, you'll have to pass, as the town is located in what is known as a ‘dry’ county. Fortunately, Jack Daniel's has been granted a dispensation to sell commemorative versions on the premises. Collectors beware.
