Distilled from fresh, certified organic kumquats, CALA KUMQUAT GIN is made in the hammered copper column stills of the Biercée distillery, the flagship of Belgian craft distilling. This outstanding gin owes its incomparable aroma and flavour above all to the very high quality of its ingredients.
100% natural ingredients
From juniper berries to organic kumquats and other fresh, untreated citrus fruits, right through to the cocoa used in its composition, all the ingredients in CALA KUMQUAT GIN are of premium, 100% natural origin.
The 100% certified organic kumquats used in CALA KUMQUAT GIN come from the orchards of La Finca Rio Jara in southern Andalusia. These orchards belong to a Belgian woman, a friend of the creator of CALA KUMQUAT GIN. They have been cultivated for over 50 years with the strictest respect for the environment and biodiversity. The kumquats are hand-picked when fully ripe, to guarantee their full aroma and flavour. The ingredients of CALA KUMQUAT GIN go from nature to the bottle.
No artificial flavourings, even ‘natural’ ones, no flavour enhancers and no preservatives are used in its composition.

On the nose
A lovely citrus note, undeniably what it says on the label is present. A good sign. With a little oxygenation comes a little cocoa and even a hint of iodine. It's complex, but without fuss. It's clean and precise, the sign of a distiller who knows where he's going.
On the palate
The attack is round and fat, but not aggressive. The citrus note is clearly present, with a hint of bitterness probably carried by the skin, which harmoniously lifts the whole.
The finish
A touch of cocoa returns, almost chocolate cream. No sweetness, which is very pleasant indeed.
